So, since having some solar panels and sort-of-free electricity, here’s an update on how much it has saved me so far this year.
I’ve got 19x450w panels split over two roofs, and a 12kwh fox ess battery (10kwh usable).
Approximate amount saved by not having to buy electricity since May – £420 (compared to last year’s usage)
Amount earned from exporting to the grid – £440 (from Octopus) and £170 (from Axle).
So that’s a little over £1k from ~6 months ….. obviously the next 6 months are the sucky months for sunlight in the UK, so I probably shouldn’t expect to export much now until perhaps March 2027?
