Podcast on Marketing/Branding for Geeks

Here's a great (relatively short) podcast on the power of marketing and branding.

Lugradio Live 2008

Today was day 1 of LugRadio Live 2008 (UK edition).

Headline news - There will be more LugRadio Live conferences, and the implication of more LugRadio episodes.

As per normal, we met all the usual suspects, and had a good time. I only attended two talks - one on Women in Open Source, and the other was about bzr. Perhaps the schedule wasn't worded too well, but it was hard to get excited by any of the descriptions given - I needed more info goddamit!.

Lugradio Live 2007

So, it's finished. We're both quite tired, and ended up not staying at the Chin for the #lugradio get-together.

My lasting impressions of LugRadio Live 2007 are :

  • There seemed to be fewer people this year than last
  • Great venue - far roomier, but there seemed to be fewer stalls
  • Wow, the local MP came along (thanks to Howard Berry)

3rd time lucky ? (how to mistreat ipod shuffles)

Yet another Ipod shuffle replacement arrives...

Some time ago in 2006 I decided to buy an Ipod shuffle, when my iAudio mp3 player decided to give up on me. All was well, until one day I was caught running in fairly heavy rain. Later on, I plugged it in to charge; this killed it. A few weeks later, a replacement come through in the post - lesson learnt - Keep shuffle dry, and don't charge if wet
