Today we saw Shrek 3 at the cinema in Rubery. We really enjoyed it - it was easily as good as the previous Shrek's with a good smattering of jokes, song lyrics and funny moments. It seems rare to see a trilogy that doesn't suck by film 2 or 3 - thankfully this didn't. However, if you do go to watch it, enter the theatre late, as the adverts preceding the film were extremely annoying and lasted forever (every other one seemed to be a car advert).

Afterwards we went to Frankie and Benny's for 'Sunday Lunch'. (Un)Fortunately the service was so crap, and we waited for nearly an hour that they gave us our entire meal for free :-) :-) :-) (Bear in mind, that when we entered the 'restaurant' it was empty...).

So that was : 10 glasses of fizzy drink, 1 mint tea, 5 starters, 6 main meals (1 of which was canceled after we were told 4 times that it would be "here in just a minute" (over a 20 minute period)) and 6 desserts.

Now, please pay attention and hear todays lesson : "Complain about crap service in restaurants".

To give the manager credit, we didn't have to complain too loudly in order to get offered a 'discounted rate', and then a few more mumbles he gave it us for free and offered dessert "on the house". Which has probably had the desired effect - i.e. we will go back there again.
