We do run, run, run.....

Running

On Sunday, Kat had suggested I go mountain biking - however I'm tiring of it, partly because it takes at least 30 minutes to drive to somewhere worth cycling - anyway, not wanting to be fat and lazy, I instead ran for probably an hour and a half (effectively along this 10 mile route). It tired me out somewhat, but was enjoyable.

Upon getting back from what I thought was quite a long run, Bob (the dog) showed his ability to recover quickly (or not get tired in the first place) and was trying to get me to play with him after five minutes :-/

Running

Glad you're enjoying the running - don't be too disheartened regarding Bobs ability to 'bounce back', remember he has got a couple more legs than you ;-)

Are you going to do a marathon next year?

I should try it

Once we move, I'll hopefully have more time to do other things (than sitting in a car going to work), so yes... I'd like to.

Running & Injuries

Just noticed your 'ankle' post, probably just as well your busy with moving as it'll give your ankle a chance to recover.

Regarding shoes, do you get your shoes from a running shop as this is one thing that you can't get wrong if you have recurring injuries. A reputable running shop will be able to assess your movement while running and get the right sort of shoes for the way you hit the road. Something to think about if you're going to buy some new shoes anyway.

Up and running

I normally go to Up and running (Birmingham, Hagley Road), and did try to go this morning - but they appear to have moved/closed down.

My podiatrist has given me instructions as to what to get (now I just need to find another branch of Up and Running!), which will probably be Shrewsbury or Wolverhampton.

Birmingham Up&Running

Hi All,
Birmingham has a new Up&Running now, on Temple Street just off New Street by Tesco Metro.
The biggest store in the Up&Running chain, so come check us out, there's plenty to be found!
