Rowan James Goodwin

After getting off to a bit of a shaky start with the whole breastfeeding lark - which everyone at the hospital was wonderful with - Rowan and I have been released!

Its wonderful to be at home although David and I are having to work things out as we go along now. He's just off taking Rowan for his first Walkies, which is a bit scary for me as its the first time I will have been without Rowan for longer than it takes to have a bath, and the first time he's really been outside.

Thanks to everyone for the various congratulations, cards and gifts - we appreciate them all. Once we're settled (hopefully in a few days) we'd love to have visitors (by prior arrangement, for short tea-visits) who are happy that the house may be a tip and that they have to get their own drinks :-)

I'm planning to post about the whole traumatic birth story thing when I've got a few more minutes / am able to relive it less!

Yes, I remember the early

Yes, I remember the early panic about breastfeeding. Though Julie is really glad she stuck with it now, and is now not looking forward to stopping it, as is Niamh too I guess!

I suspect David just wanted to show of the baby and pram, thats why he is out for the walkies!

Walkies ! full speed ahead

Well, we have a funky material sling (as seen on 'Bringing up Baby') which Rowan was bundled into. I then just trudged across the normal fields in wellington boots.

The goal is that I take Rowan out for 'walkies' each evening, I was just a little eager this morning (and yes, I did show him off to Claire, the next door neighbour and Jenny (again)).

Walkies?!

Am glad to hear you're both back home and doing well.
How are Bob and Cassie adapting to Rowan? Do they like sharing their 'walkies'?

Woof

Well, yesterday when coming home, I led the dogs to the car one at a time, so they could smell him. They seemed interested (i.e. sniff, sniff, sniff) but were also a bit excited (as it was walkies-o'clock).

Today, they both seemed to behave well - Bob tried to get his nose in where he could, and Cassie seemed slightly more agressive when another dog started barking at her. So I don't really know.

We'll probably not let them be in the same room as him, if we're not for some time.

Woo!

Congrats to you Kat, D & I are really glad to hear you're all doing well.

It's great that you are

It's great that you are home. Congratulations!

Take it easy and make David do all the hard work.

Regards,

Rob...

git!

I'll get my own back on you one day Rob!

*grin*

No doubt!

LRL

Will Rowan be making any celebrity appearances at LUGradio Live, or do you have a sitter all sorted? :)

His highness will probably make an appearance

We've not thought much about it yet, but it's quite likely he'll do the same as Alfie last year, and turn up for a few hours....

Yay!

Here's to all three of you! If you need any advice or someone to whinge at, feel free to get in touch. I don't claim to be an expert, but I am a couple of steps further along the same road. *hugs*
