Right - a quick summary of the phpnw08 conference.

Firstly; there were some great speakers - and a good selection of talks. My favourite was probably Stuart Herbert's Twittex talk which was more focussed on the business / management (than technical) side of developing a product; the RegExp and MySQL Explain talks were more useful than I expected them to be (good!) and Derrick's opening keynote (KISS etc) covered a wide range of useful reminders - which can often be forgotten. I assume the slides and videos etc will be posted on the phpnw website (you'll probably see me going red in the final debate type talk when trying to explain one of the many questions I put forward for the debate).

I think I'm going away from it having made a few more acquaintances in the PHP community, and with a desire to help test PHP.... so I'd better pull my finger out and find out where to start (Zoe?).

Anyway, thank you to the various organisers, other sponsors and speakers for making it happen.

Note to self: Don't bother trying to find a GameStation to keep Aypok happy without directions!
