Illness and Exercise

With all of my enthusiasm last week about getting into my new exercise routine, I then came down with a nasty stomach bug last week which prevented me from exercising (well actually from doing anything much as I didn't eat for two days). By Friday though, I was feeling ok, and on Saturday we went to do some more house viewing.

On Sunday we went over to Chase Academy in Cannock, where a kind gentleman was giving away some old CRT monitors. We picked one up for Rachel (with sound, so she won't have to get speakers) and also went away with a laser printer. We managed to spend a good bit of time there (possibly a couple of hours) chatting to the kind gentleman about his school IT systems, and talking about a few bits of software / technology. It turned into a bit of a sales session, as he was asking what we could do for him as a company, and I decided that trying to do that sort of stuff feels very strange when you're in your scruffy walking gear. I'd be surprised if we get any actual work out of him, but he knows what we can do now, so you never know.

We then went straight off for a nice long (supposed to be 45 mins, turned into over an hour) walkies to try to step up my training schedule a bit. I'm a bit achey now after that (on top of some boxing on Friday, and dance mat saturday AM), but have gone out for my bi-weekly lunchtime walk. That's slowly getting longer as I experiment with different routes, but I'm still not quite up to half an hour, so I'll need to push that up a notch on Wednesday.

Food wise I haven't been dreadfully sensible, with takeaway twice at the weekend (watching the portion sizes though) and a trip to the farmers market in Bromsgrove (where the goodies were irresistable) but we've got a nice full veg-rack and so I shall be cooking interesting things all week, starting with something I've never tried before - spinach and ricotta ravioli in a tomato sauce. Lets see how my pasta making efforts turn out!
