In an effort to save ourselves some money, David has been working his way through various tasks in the DIY todo list. Yesterday I thought he had done enough without my assistance so decide to help him shift bricks into the skip, and to take down the remains of the chimney breast.
I must have spent around 4 hours lugging things around and bashing at bricks, and when I was done (about 2 or so hours before David finished...) I was pretty tired, but not feeling too bad overall. A few hours later though, my arm starting feeling stiff and achey (fingers to elbow), and by the time I went to bed it hurt to move my arm, or to leave it still, and it was aching all the way to my shoulder. I'm apparently such a bit wimp that I had to take painkillers to get to sleep.
This morning its still stiff, particularly my fingers and shoulder, but I can still type so have been able to do my accounts and will be able to work this afternoon (thankfully!), although carrying things is not (as I discovered in B&Q this morning) easy.
In other news, the chimney breast is now completely gone, and David is boarding the bathroom floor today so we can get the lino down. Also, last night we finally put the dyson in its grave, and discovered that the boiler is buggered. We're going to be laying out a bit of money on that I suspect, so some of the decorating may well have to wait, or we'll have to borrow some more - neither of which we wanted to do.
