For some weeks, I've been signed up to a weight loss course at my local gym. It involves a half an hour session talking about an aspect of food, and then some form of exercise. I haven't really been trying on the eating front, although except for the 2 weeks where I had the nasty flu that was going around, I have been regularly exercising - and more strenuously than ever. This week at the course I had my biggest challenge so far - running. The girl who runs the course also does the beginners running club on a Wednesday, which Jenny and her mum (and sometimes David(brother)) go to. Helen (Jenny's Mum) also does the weight loss course with me (and has been doing really really well) and she suggested that we should all have a go at running this week.
Running is something I've wanted to be able to do for a lot of reasons. Firstly, its one of David's favourite things and I'd really love to be able to run with him one day. Secondly, lots of people I know do the Race for Life and I'm going to join in this year. I'm accompanying my eldest niece, and hope we'll both run most of the the 5k course. If you want to support me, or Cancer Research generally, please sponsor me!
Anyway, I went last week, and was really surprised that I managed to keep up, and near the front the whole time. I am absolutely exhausted today, but feel wonderful and still quite energised despite some aches. I think I'm going to join the others at running club next week when the aches have passed a bit. Scary, but very satisfying

Woof
Does this mean you'll soon want to run the dogs in the morning?
