Before Xmas, I was posting fairly regularly about my weight loss attempts, and more recently I posted about taking a different tack with things, and switching away from weight watchers.
Since then, I've had a mixed bag in terms of success. On the one hand, I feel wonderful. I'm walking at least 30 minutes a day, most days - to get to the bus to go to work. I'm also settling into a routine that involves 2 long and 1 short gym session, an hour-long step class and a 30 minute class each week (different things each time). This is currently making me ache almost constantly. Today its the turn of my legs as always, and especially my abdomen. Lots of "core strength" exercises that my body is in no way used to has left those poor muscles screaming. But in a good way! Its the sort of ache that goes away when you exercise again, but dogs you when you're being a lazy arse. (like the ache through what seems like most of the muscles in my lower body when I stand up from my desk)
On the food front, I haven't been doing so well, especially with the throwdown and associated junk food at the weekend. Now I feel like I've got the exercise side under control, I'm going back to tracking what I'm eating for a while. I'm not being too strict about it all, with estimating rather than strict measuring, but its making me think about what I'm eating again, so that's good.
Tonight I'm foregoing WolvesLUG (which David and Paul are off to) to babysit so Jenny can go to running club and out to dinner with some mothers from nursery. I'm looking forward to preparing the requested "pineapple curry" for Emily (Ok so I might put some lamb in there too) and having a lazy night in front of a DVD.
