3rd time lucky ? (how to mistreat ipod shuffles)

Yet another Ipod shuffle replacement arrives...

Some time ago in 2006 I decided to buy an Ipod shuffle, when my iAudio mp3 player decided to give up on me. All was well, until one day I was caught running in fairly heavy rain. Later on, I plugged it in to charge; this killed it. A few weeks later, a replacement come through in the post - lesson learnt - Keep shuffle dry, and don't charge if wet

On Monday, I was running along, dragging the fat dog (Cassie) around Bromsgrove when the replacement decided to stop working. At the time I assumed it just had a flat battery.... later on, I discovered it had decided to follow in it's predecessors footsteps.

So, yesterday, I filled in the online forms on Apple's website, and asked for a replacement.

Much to my surprise, the replacement was waiting on my desk for me this morning. I'd expected it to take a couple of days to arrive, but not so.

So, in summary :

  • Boo to Apple for not making the Shuffle robust/durable
  • Hurray to Apple for being exceedingly quick at shipping a replacement under warranty
  • Hurray to Apple for not questioning how I seem to be getting through shuffles at the rate of 2 in < 6 months
  • Don't take your shuffle out in heavy rain
  • Don't expect a shuffle to last more than 6 months...

I've had mine for well over

I've had mine for well over a year and it's still going strong...shame it's not one of the pretty coloured ones though!

Kat's is purple/pink

Kat has a 'pretty' coloured one (pink/purple) ... mine's just silver and boring.

Purple?
