How to make Hot Chocolate drink (e.g. Galaxy)

How to make a good hot chocolate drink

Following a discussion in the office, and no obvious online material to back up my views, here's how to create hot chocolate. Well, at least, Galaxy hot chocolate, which is currently my favourite.

  • Place a good 4-5 teaspoons of the powder in a mug (more is better)
  • Pour a small amount of milk in
  • Mix together the powder and milk with aim of making a thick paste/goo
  • Pour in hot water
  • Optionally add whipped cream
  • Enjoy

It's that easy Paul

That's how I was taught

When in Italy, that's how they showed me how to do it; and everyone tells me I make great hot chocolate....

Although....

....use all milk, and always hot, ideally. :)

i prefer water based ones

milk is a pain to heat - and often we end up burning it or it boiling over...

using a kettle is a bit more idiot proof..... and i'm not too keen on a rich milky drink.

Microwave it

Milk is easy to heat up in the microwave. I like a milky Cadbury's hot choc before bed myself :-)

re microwave

We don't have a microwave :-) so doing it that way might be quite hard.

It's fairly amusing, as when microwaves first came out, everyone 'had' to have one, but we've not had one for 2-3 years now, and haven't really noticed - well the only problem area is how to cook puddings, as they take ages to steam on the hob... but I digress :)
