It was our fortnightly health visitor visit today, and Rowan is currently a whopping 10lb 4oz - an increase of 1lb 6oz since his last weigh-in two weeks ago. It is comforting to know that all the time he spends eating is for a purpose, and all the time he spends vomiting isn't having too detrimental an effect on that!
On the sleeping front we're currently on an up. We've had two nights of reasonable sleep, in 2 - 2 1/2 hour chunks, which seems to be enough for me to function quite well. Before that we'd had some bad ones, with Rowan staying up to 1.30am on one occassion, and regularly feeding till 11 or 12. David, lacking those helpful hormones that help me reach deep sleep in a short time, is suffering somewhat as he gets woken up at least some of the times that Rowan feeds. He's being stubborn and won't take me up on my offer to let him sleep on the sofa for a night, buy maybe the lack of sleep will drive him to it. On the related bed-sharing front, our new mattress is being delivered tomorrow so we'll have an extra 6 inches of space as we'll be able to put the king-size bed frame up again!
The first month has, all-in-all, been rather wonderful. Rowan is worth every moment, peaceful or screaming, and we've settled into a routine far quicker than I expected!
