On Sunday, I decided to cycle to Stratford-upon-avon and back (route here). As only I would do. The ride itself was quite nice, although it seemed easier on the way back. There were stupid roadworks on the A46, so I had to take a detour uphill, hence the indirect route. On the way back, I managed to get a little lost, hence the extra dual carriageway.
As normal I sweated loads.
Anyway, to the point of this post - one the way I went through Feckenham and happened to see signs and scarecrows up - advertising it's scarecrow weekend. To give the residents credit, I was quite impressed that so many of them had taken the time and effort to create original scarecrow designs.
In the morning it was quite quiet, but as I was going back home, there were quite a few people following the scarecrow trail - so I'd like to think that the weekend itself was a success.
The BBC has a small non-article on it here.
