Camping in the rain

Over the weekend we went camping near Hereford (Cuckoos Corner Camp Site, Moreton-on-lug, HR4 8AH) (google maps link).

On Saturday, Chris and I cycled there from Bromsgrove, which was a nice trip, although the roads were too busy to cycle abreast and chat. I think it took us approx 3 hours to do the 50ish miles. We took a route that went through Bromyard.

So, anyway, Saturday was a good day - there was plenty of beer, a BBQ and fun playing football and rounders. Unfortunately, on Sunday, it started to rain, and didn't really stop until Monday morning when we left. Unfortunately we hadn't taken much wet weather gear, or even wellys, so had wet feet most of the weekend.

Anyway, if you have children, take them to this campsite - they'll have fun. Wally (the owner) has a little tractor to take them on trips with, as well as donkeys to ride, archery, a pool table and other 'fun' animals. Wally was also kind enough to allow us use of a caravan for Sunday night (which was very, very nice of him).

I believe we paid £10 each for the campsite, which made the weekend an absolute bargain.
