So yesterday, I was that stupid person that took his dog to the vet, thinking there may be a problem with it as it kept scratching and biting itself all the time - only to find out it has fleas.
Annoyingly I had treated them both a number of times, but according to the vet powders are no good.....
Last night Mr Bob and Miss Cassie therefore had a thorough bath, followed by 'proper' drops etc. This morning, Mr Kacy (visitor) also had a bath and drops applied.
The house is slowly being washed etc. My apologies if you've visited us recently and taken more than you bargained for home..... oddly I've not been knowingly bitten yet.

Don't know if there's any
Don't know if there's any science behind this, but, in my experience, fleas tend to bite women more than men.
flea infested woman!
That could be due to the temperature difference between men and women.
Kat is normally about 1'c cooler than I am... which seems odd.
At least, I think I read somewhere that fleas are sensitive to temperature, which is why they prefer dogs and cats over humans.
Of course, I could be wrong, and it could just be down to the fact that pets are covered in hair/fur, and we're not really, so the fleas don't find us as hospitable.

Our house was infested when we first moved in. Matt never got bitten at all, but I was scratching for weeks. The bites were always on my legs, so maybe Matt's hairy man legs saved him. We used our steamer on the carpets and used lots of petrol-smelling flea spray and citronella essential oil, but it took a long time to clear. Now we have Tiger we use those drops on him and spray his bed with Bob Martin flea spray which seems to do the trick.
