3rd Trimester Whinges

This week we headed into the third trimester. That's right folks, 3 months to go. I'm now officially quite scared!

My second trimester energy has not magically disappeared as we passed the magic date, but I am feeling it start to ebb away. I can't remember the last time I didn't feel tired, or slept properly, but I guess I'm getting used to it slowly. Other annoying things are:

  • Indigestion / heartburn - Now appears to be pretty much permanent
  • Continual kicking - good old $Herbert now seems to party for hours each day, and even carries on when I'm active (that had previously calmed him). When this makes me feel sick, its pretty tiring. I'm waiting for him to have less room to maneuver
  • Hormones and worrying - I'm normally quite a positive person, but I seem to be prone to quite bad negative spells, along with an inability to stop worrying about whatever is bothering me (which really helps with the sleeping!) even when I can't do any more than I'm already doing. This also has the downside of stopping getting excited about $Herbert's arrival for long, which sucks

That said, I'm in generally good health, as, apparently, is $Herbert, so that's very good. Now I have to try to induce some of that nesting instinct to make sure the nursery is ready - and to thing about things like hospital and nappy changing bags!

pectin

Hi Kat - hope all is well. I read that there's a product containing fruit pectin that helps with the indigestion/ heartburn - it was in the Holland and Barrett magazine and it said it was good for during pregnancy. Pectin's in apples though, so munching on one of them would probably be cheaper. Take care, maz

Apple Crumble is superior

Hi Maz!,

We had a huge apple crumble last night - well, I had a huge portion, Kat had a more respectable lady-like portion :)

We've got a few apples lying around at the moment, after I picked some from my mothers farm... so thanks for the suggestion, I'll try and make "her" eat roasted apples and suchlike :)
